Bio
I love teaching math and science at HFS. I find the two disciplines are interwoven and expose my students to their similarities and connections to the real world. I inherited the love of science and math from both of my parents. My father, who is a physician, taught me the love of science and my mother, an English and History professor, taught me the passion for teaching. It’s a win-win to me. After taking studies in a Doctorate of Pharmacy program, I knew that I wanted to share my passion/love of these subject areas by teaching and inspiring young minds to these disciplines. My ultimate reward is seeing my graduated HFS students come back to visit and express how I ignited their fire/flame to pursue degrees in the areas of math, science, as well as engineering.
I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, which includes cooking, exercising, and traveling. I enjoy spending my summers down the shore in Margate, NJ where I spend Zen time with my family and my Corgi dog, Skip. I absolutely love the Jersey shore; nothing compares to sitting on the beach and soaking up the salt air and tranquility of the ocean. My other favorite hobby/interest is fashion…I love being a personal shopper, especially for my nieces who I dress from head to toe. I’m also a lover of the arts and theater. Any activity that involves helping and spending quality time with others, especially children and animals, is a reward in itself!

Tr. Madeline (Gralish), Humanities
It is a joy to teach 5th and 6th grade Humanities at HFS! This has been a full-circle journey for me, as I was fortunate enough to attend HFS from kindergarten through third grade and have found myself back where my love of learning began. I have many fond memories of watching the sunlight peacefully stream through the windows of the meeting house every Wednesday morning, sledding in the cemetery in the winter, and releasing monarch butterflies in the fall. Now, as a teacher, I am passionate about helping children grow and evolve as people, not just as learners. What excites me most about teaching literature and history is the opportunity for students to explore and appreciate language in its many forms and how knowing where we come from and what makes us who we are today can help shape our future. In Humanities class, students develop their own voices as writers, explore the vast world of books and stories, and journey through ideas and topics that connect ancient history to humanity today. As an educator, I act as a facilitator of active learning, where students are able to work collaboratively, following their natural curiosity (with encouragement and guidance) to make discoveries about the material we are learning. I combine warmth, engagement, and genuine caring with the ability to tailor instruction to meet each student’s unique needs. I firmly believe that teaching with the whole child in mind is crucial to building the confidence, critical thinking, creativity, and joy of learning that HFS has proudly instilled in each young person who passes through these halls. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy playing violin (I started playing at the age of five), traveling, reading, cooking and baking, completing the daily New York Times games, and spending time with my family, including my son, Henry, my husband, Ben, and a brown tabby cat with enormous green eyes named Frankie.Bio

Tr. Robin (Frizzle), Math
I am very excited to be a part of the team at Haddonfield Friends, teaching 5th and 6th grade math! I have been teaching for many years in various environments. For the last 9 years, I taught 5th grade (all subjects) in Philadelphia. Previously, I have also taught kindergarten, 8th grade ELA, Pre-Kindergarten, student taught first grade, substituted for grades K-6, and have experience with children of many different ages and backgrounds. I take pride in nurturing and guiding my students to develop a love for learning that enhances their ability to become contributing citizens in their community. It is my goal to build positive relationships with my students and to use my experience to make math engaging and meaningful.Bio
I am originally from Bucks County, PA, and I’ve lived in New Jersey for 7 years now. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my young son, Jack, my husband, and our 2 cats. Additionally, I love to read, do crossword puzzles, and crafts.

Tr. Andrew (Liss-Noda), Humanities
I am incredibly grateful to be able to teach 7th and 8th grade humanities at HFS! I love teaching the humanities because both history and literature allow students to discover the most wondrous parts of our world. I truly believe that the spaces between us leave room for us to grow, and the most thrilling way to experience that growth is through language and storytelling. My classes focus on the socratic tradition of discovery through discussion, a workshop approach to writing, and a great deal of self-expression. The world and its history are truly beautiful, and I hope that my students will continue to approach life with wonder and curiosity. Outside of the classroom, I am an avid reader, an amateur jazz guitarist, and overall nerd. I have published short, speculative fiction in several literary journals, and have been dreaming of publishing a novel since I was just a grom. Oh, and I am currently in the midst of the long process of learning how to surf.Bio

Tr. Nicole (Haver), Admin
After graduating college, I completed my student teaching in Melbourne, Australia as a part of my Masters’ coursework. I enjoyed the experience so much, I decided to teach abroad for several years, living in both China and Singapore. I learned new languages, new sports and traveled extensively, developing a better understanding of other cultures and the world around me, while making new friends in the process. I now consider many places “home”. After several years abroad, I returned to the States to go back to school. Since moving back, I’ve lived in NYC and CT, and recently returned to NJ, where I grew up, to be closer to family. In my spare time, I love to read, explore new places and spend time with family, including my son, who keeps me busy. Bio
