New Jersey Historic Trust Grant Fundraiser

Haddonfield Friends School was awarded a $725,000 NJ Historic Trust (NJHT) matching grant to preserve our 1786 schoolhouse – but we must raise the funds to unlock it.
Every dollar donated unlocks a matching grant dollar, doubling our impact up to $1.45 million!

The $725,000 matching grant will fund critical renovations, including HVAC upgrades, accessibility improvements, and essential structural repairs to preserve our historic 1786 schoolhouse for generations to come.

What are some of the improvements the $1.45 million will be used for?

Dismissal porch replacement
Exterior brick wall restoration
Fire escape replacement
First floor reconstruction to eliminate/correct uneven floors and structural conditions
Front brick entry and porch restoration
Iron fencing restoration and rehabilitation around the property
Lower-level rooms renovation
Roof replacement with historic metal and front porch roof rehabilitation
Storm water rerouting improvements for building and basements
Window rehabilitation on first, second, and basement floors
